Polaroid Journal, Day 1

I am starting a new photographic polaroid journal. The idea is to make an image every day. To respond to a moment with a camera and fixed lense. I am still in love with plastic cameras, the polaroid being one of my favorites.
12.15.05 White Winter. I drive Route 9 daily to get to work. I find points along the way that I want to photograph. I am limited by time and a narrow curving road. Both force me to photograph in motion while driving. This photograph shows what my eye did not see this morning while balancing the wheel, road, and mirror. I did not see a large sky or the height of tree branches. Instead, I saw white and gold in a winding creek. Water stilled in collections of snow, the sun filling yellow between ice and liquid. The trees suited in white. A monochromatic range stilled. I thought of pantyhose, the variance in nude, taupe, tan, brown. I no longer wear pantyhose, nor do I really think about them. Which made it all the more amusing that this is how I first thought of the colors passing. I wanted to make a snow globe from my eyes. The images not recorded in this photo.
